Catherine D’Amato
Ms. D’Amato, appointed to the Boston Foundation Board of Director in June, 2004, has been a tireless advocate for the hungry for more than twenty years, most recently as President and CEO of the Greater Boston Food Bank. She assumed her leadership position there in 1995, after serving at the Western Massachusetts Food Bank and the San Francisco Food Bank. Under her vision and leadership, The Greater Boston Food Bank has been transformed into a nearly $50 million charitable business. Ms. D’Amato has received a variety of community awards for her leadership role in the fight to end hunger, including the New England Women’s Leadership Award, the Paul Tsongas Award for Community Service, the “Heroes Among Us Award” from the Boston Celtics and the “Hunger’s Hope Award” from America’s Second Harvest.
