The City of Boston has been very successful in developing and implementing a broad range of programs for the city’s children and youth.  Increased emphasis on after school programs that serve high risk children and youth, including gender specific programs, are required to help young people succeed in the city’s most challenging neighborhoods.

Research shows that if young people are involved or engaged in constructive activities, and if they have strong, supportive relationships with responsible adults and members of their community, they are less likely to become involved in risky behavior that can lead to crime and violence.

How are we doing?
